Mapping DTMFs for Presence Profiles

You must have rights to create user settings templates and to view users and user groups.

You use this procedure to define the DTMF characters with which desk phone users are able to change profiles.

The whole process is as follows:

  1. Create a user group of desk phone users.

  2. Give this group rights to use profiles.

  3. Configure a mapping between a DTMF character and a profile.

  4. Inform the group about the DTMF characters and about the character that is used for changing the profile.

The Presence Change Start DTMF setting is defined in System Services > IP Desk Phone Settings > Advanced Settings, see Configuring IP Desk Phone Settings.

  1. On the System Configurator main screen, choose User and Role Management > User Settings Template.
  2. To create a new template, choose Add New.

    Or

Search for the template to which you want to add the DTMF mapping.

  3. In the DTMF Mapping for Presence Profiles block, enter the number you want to map to a profile and then choose the profile from the dropdown list.
    example:

If the DTMF character for changing the profile is # and the mapping character for the business trip profile is 12, the desk phone users choose the following to change their profile to Business Trip: #12.

    Note:

Make sure that you do not use the same DTMFs as for other pre-configured values that are defined in System Services > IP Desk Phone Settings > Advanced Settings because the values defined with a user settings template override the values defined in System Services.

  4. Save your entries.
